Introduction

The following story began as a reply to an off topic post in a totally unrelated usenet newsgroup. I began what I anticipated would be a hundred or two hundred flippant words, and spent seven of the next nine days pounding out a part a day and posting to the newgroup in the morning before I went to work. It was largely ignored, but I couldn't stop myself, it just poured out of me. It betrays my total lack of knowledge of religious and political history, but I never let stupidity stop me before, I don't see why I should start now.
